Etsy’s Hidden Treasure of the Week- Jewelry, Part 2

This is a continuation of last week’s post on undiscovered jewelry shops on Etsy. To be honest, I am having a hard time limiting this to just two weeks. There are so many talented, unique, and original jewelry shops on Etsy that is it hard to choose just a few. I am sure this is a theme will be revisit in the future. Today we are going to focus on unique undiscovered jewelry shops. Welcome to the treasure hunt!

This one of a kind bangle bracelet was decoupaged with a Turkish comic strip. I certainly don't know anyone with anything quite like it!

A Little Beauty

Ok, I know it is Thursday, and it is Shop Success day, not Hidden Treasure day. BUT I just came across this Fabulous little shop with really unique jewelry that I just had to share with you!

brass and glass earrings

We’re Kevin & Jess, a husband & wife team of artists. Most of our adult lives so far have been spent putting our artistic dreams on hold for… well, everything else in life.

The Backburner Studio is a dream finally awakening to reality. It’s all of our creativity, hope, and lives… fresh off the backburner.

I encourage you to go over and take a look at the unique pieces they have to offer. Heart items, visit their blog, or send them a message of encouragement! Or maybe even buy those fantastic glass ball earrings!

Etsy’s Hidden Treasure of the Week- Jewelry, Part 1

Jewelry is one of the largest categories on Etsy (over 2 million items listed as I write this). For shop owners selling jewelry, it is very easy to feel like a very small fish in a very big pond. So many great jewelry artists are selling on Etsy that I have decided to take these next two weeks to highlight a few of the great undiscovered shops. Enjoy

Etsy’s Hidden Treasures of the Week- Pretty in Pink

Seems a little ironic that after spending a lifetime despising all things pink that I would choose three pink beauties for this week’s treasures. Maybe there is a girly girl inside of me yet!

This photo alone just makes me let out a breath of relief. Adorable.

pink pin bracelet

Pirates always seemed to have maps to help them find hidden treasure. You know, x marks the spot? Well, in the big world of Etsy, there doesn’t seem to be any treasure maps! Thanks to the many people who have offered suggestions of where the hidden treasure might be! Keep them coming.

I’m Just Me

Have you ever caught yourself looking at someone else’s work, wishing that you could make that? Have you ever looked down upon what you have done after seeing what someone else’s work?

Crochet wall art, handmade

This caused my comparison induced self-pity today!

The comparison game is a dangerous slippery slope. It will either catapult you into pride or cause you to make your home in the land of self-pity. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be in either place.

I’m just me. I will never become someone else. At the end of the day, I will always be me. And you will always be you. And what is wrong with that? A thumb will never become an eye. It just doesn’t have the right parts for the job. And yet if we lost either an eye or a thumb, we would have to relearn how to do even the simplest of daily tasks. To compare the importance of the two would just be silly; we are thankful for both of them equally.

I have a unique group of talents and gifts, as do you. It is up to us to use what we have been given to create something beautiful and bless people’s lives. Allowing ourselves to wishfully long for another person’s gifts will not help us accomplish anything in this life. In fact, we won’t even be able to effective use what gifts we do have if we are always longing for someone else’s talents.

Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life. (Galatians 6:4-5, The Message)

The challenge for all of us today is to take a serious look at our own gifts and talents. Be thankful for what we have been given and find ways to put them to use to bless others. Let the comparison game stop with us.
