Handmade funky crocheted slouch hat (tam) in mustard yellow.
Made with a soft, luxurious 100% organic cotton yarn. Hand wash and dry flat.
I simply adore this hat. It gives you lots of options; it can be worn as a slouchy hat or beanie. The yarn is so soft you will have to touch it for yourself to believe me. And the color just makes my heart sing.

In one week, I will be riding through the night to get here:
Beautiful Gulfport, Mississippi. Really, despite the picturesque beach, it isn’t that beautiful of a place. Quite the opposite actually. But there is something about a place that has rooted itself inside of your heart that makes you see it through rose-colored glasses. Love is funny that way.
I spent almost three years living on the Coast. They were the most trying and growing years of my life so far. And yet I am so thankful that I had those experiences; they have helped shape my life in a way I never imagined.
So in one week I will pack up the dog, hit the road, and spend a long weekend in the place where I came into adulthood. I will rejoice in the rebuilding process, reminisce about the hard times, and reunite with people I love. And most of all, I will celebrate with my church family the opening of its first church building.
Words can’t even express how beautiful of a sight that is to me. Only 7 more days….
A reminder from hidden treasure shop TrulyVera
Ever have one of those days where you want to throw your hands up in the air and walk away? You ask yourself why you even bother, since it obviously isn’t going to happen. Your pity party has escalated. You have, for lack of better words, a grown up hissy fit. Don’t worry, I’ve been there, done that; I have the film reel in my memory to prove it!
When we have a dream, we often meditate on it so often that it is almost as if we don’t realize that we aren’t there yet. And when things in our lives don’t seem to be lining up with that dream, our natural reaction many times is to get frustrated and want to give up. But if you give up, how will it ever happen?
The reality of life is that very few things just fall out of the sky into our lap. Dreams take work! And not just one day or one week or even one month of work, but months and years of work. And then when we get there, we just keep working some more! That’s right, life=work.
Then, instead of being lazy, you will imitate those who are inheriting the promises through faith and patience. (Heb 6:12)
Faith is just simply what we believe. You need to believe that you can accomplish your get to your dream, otherwise you will lose your motivation and quit- if you ever even get started! So keep on believing that you what you dream will come to pass. And have the patience to keep working towards that goal. Faith gets you going, but patience keeps you in the game when the going gets tough. Another word for patience is endurance. There are going to be days when you will need to endure through the frustration if you are going to succeed. But keep believing in your dream and have the patience to see it come to pass, and you will get there! No hissy fit even needed.

For the vintage cottage of my dreams...
I love the detail on these little flowers. Would be great for a ring or trinket holder.
As sweet as can be! What a great photo prop.

Those are the keywords that brought people to my etsy shop yesterday. I sell crochet and felt accessories. I don’t even know who Georgette Trilere is, if it even is a person. And quite honestly I had to look up what yarn gradation really entailed. As for a custom kitchenaid, well, I don’t own one let alone sell one.
Remember those Bing commercials when it was first being promoted? People would ask a question to a friend, and the friend would spit out random pieces of information that were not even related? And yet how true is that in our world of internet searches.
Trust me, I use Google for everything… and I do mean everything! How to get out grass stains out of my roommate’s pillowcase that I accidentally stepped on, if too much potassium could be causing my resident to hallucinate, why that lady in the movie looks so familiar. And those were just within the past few days. I’ve been a Gmail user since almost the beginning. Google maps is almost as essential as my GPS. And my Google Reader is like servant I never had, but always wanted. Google and I are good friends. Maybe even a little codependent.
But some days, I can see that Google has a little improving to do. Today is one of those days.
